Health and welfare |
Each town has its own state
hospital and in Windhoek, the capital, there are two world-standard privately
run hospitals and two state hospitals, each with fully-equipped and maintained
intensive-care units.Two companies, MedRescue and Areomed, also provides 24hr
emergency medical rescue operations. These services are efficient, effective
and prompt, extending to the most remote regions of the country by aeroplane,
helicopter or road.

Topography |
Namibia's landscape can
be divided into four regions. The oldest desert in the world, the Namib, is
a long, narrow coastal desert with a wide variety of wildlife. The central plateau
haslandscapes ranging from rugged mountains and rocky outcrops to dense bushy
areas and the wide open plains of Etosha National Park. This plateau gradually
falls towards the east where the Kalahari Desert lies, characterized by long,
vegetated red-sand dunes, in the Northeast the high-rainfall areas of the Kavango
and Caprivi.

Climate |
Namibia has a dry climate
with mostly warm to very hot days, while the nights are generally cool. Average
day temperatures in summer ( October-March ) is between 25-35 degrees celcius
with winter temperatures lower during the day and dropping to 0 degrees at night.

Government |
Namibia is ruled by a Multiparty
Parliament and has a democratic Constitution which is highly regarded by the
international community.

Infrastructure |
Namibia has a well-established
road network which provides access to all the towns, parks, reserves and tourist
attractions . Namibia also has a well-developed and efficient electricity and
water supply structure run by Namwater and Nampower, both semi-state organizations.
Overseas airlines providing a service to Windhoek are, South African Airlines
and British Airways/Comair. Air Namibia is the national carrier and maintains
